About The Candy Republic
The Candy Republic began in Bristol UK with Ian Pirrie and Toby Pascoe working on early material with the help of Bristol based drummer Anthony (Erol) Flyn of the Moonflowers. After the sad passing of Toby, Ian relocated to Devon is now close to completing the debut album.

The sound is a blend of influences ranging from 80’s synth pop, Indie Pop and punk rock with a modern twist. Ian works in his home studio with a large collection of analogue synths and traditional instruments including guitars, drums and keys.

The official debut single ‘Army of Robots’ was a punk pop call to arms for all those people who have ever had to work for the man in a dead end job. Currently this single is being remixed for a release Spring 2024.

‘I do not write love songs’ was the second single and is a cry for human connection from a lonely soul. Ian has never been afraid to expose his vulnerability in his song writing.

The latest release ‘Supermarket Freak’ is a tongue in cheek love song about the awful supermarket chains and the way people can not help but keep shopping in them despite the fact that they are destroying small high street family run businesses.

The Candy Republic have tons more songs in the pipeline so pop back here soon for more info on that.
