About The Candy Republic
The Candy Republic began in Bristol UK with Ian Pirrie whop after a number of dead end band projects he decided to go it alone.

The sound is a blend of influences ranging from 80’s synth pop, Indie Pop and punk rock with a modern twist. Ian works in his home studio with a large collection of analogue synths and traditional instruments including guitars, drums and keys.

The official debut single ‘Army of Robots’ was a punk pop call to arms for all those people who have ever had to work for the man in a dead end job.

‘I do not write love songs’ was the second single and is a cry for human connection from a lonely soul. Ian has never been afraid to expose his vulnerability in his song writing.

‘Supermarket Freak’ is a tongue in cheek love song about the despicable supermarket chains and the way people cannot help but keep shop in them despite the fact that they are destroying small high street family run businesses.

After some interest from minor record labels but nothing concrete being offered Ian has decided to take a new direction. He will be working with a performer to re-invent the band and attract a new audience.

The Candy Republic have tons more songs in the pipeline so pop back here soon for more info on that.
